The company was founded by a small Neapolitan entrepreneur, Samuele Passalacqua, who decided to invest his savings in a small coffee roastery after the war. His dream was to create a blend that could recreate the wonder and joy of his very first cup of coffee.

The Quality of Passalacqua Caffè 

To offer a wide range of superior-quality coffee, Passalacqua meticulously selects its beans from 14 countries across the globe. Each region and its soil possess unique organic properties that define the subtle flavor profiles of each blend.

Colombia, Brazil, Ethiopia, and Vietnam are just a few of the coffee-producing countries that supply Passalacqua’s beans. Hand-selected and imported, these beans are roasted in the company’s facility. For over 70 years, Passalacqua has remained committed to the locations that inspired its success. Close to Naples, more than three tons of coffee beans are roasted every hour to create Passalacqua’s signature blends.

Hailed by newspapers as "the best coffee in Italy," Passalacqua offers 15 distinct blends. Each blend undergoes slow roasting and resting periods to enhance the beans' organoleptic properties and unlock their nuanced flavors.

From the smooth and intense Mexico blend to the robust and full-bodied Cremador, or the delicate and light Harem blend, every Passalacqua product has its own story and carefully crafted characteristics, designed to satisfy even the most discerning coffee enthusiasts.



A Meticulous Supply Chain

Every step of Passalacqua’s supply chain is closely monitored to ensure the best possible final product. Coffee cherries are hand-picked to select only the ripest ones. The beans are then transported in jute bags to preserve their chemical integrity.

The true secret of Passalacqua coffee, however, lies in its roasting process—a long and complex procedure divided into three phases. This process transforms green coffee beans into the dark, aromatic beans that distinguish the brand.

Passalacqua’s Optimal Freshness Dates (Best Before Dates)

Passalacqua defines its best-before dates based on the semester of roasting, adding 24 months of freshness from the roasting date.

    • Roasting date: January to June (e.g., 01.01.2019)
    • Best-before date: 01.06.2021
  • Example 2:

    • Roasting date: March 2019 (within the first semester)
    • Best-before date: 01.06.2021
