All the lower parts of KNOCK feature a flat pressing surface to compress coffee grounds.

Why the name Knock?

After the first coffee ground compression, lightly tap on the side of the portafilter to dislodge any remaining grounds. Then, it can be pressed again. To avoid using the tamper base or the wooden handle for this light tap on the portafilter, risking damage to both the tamper and the portafilter arm, you can now tap with the integrated silicone ring in the base.

The size of the tamper base required varies depending on the manufacturer. Below is a list of manufacturers and their required tamper base sizes:
